Hello everybody,
I hope this email finds you well.
Today I want to introduce the debut album from the Japanese artist Kei Nogami aka K Nogami.
One of my last journeys before the pandemic was to Japan and it is always so rewarding for me to collaborate with such a lovely and rich culture and, after Hirotaka Shirotsubaki, it's a huge pleasure to come back with a new Japanese artist.
About his first release Kei says: "'ao' is the Japanese word for 'Blue'. The language may be different, but it is the colour of the sky, the colour of the sea. We don't need to look for it unnecessarily, we just need to raise our eyes a little higher and we can find it. That's the colour I see, and that's the colour you see, too, somewhere far away. In a more ancient time, someone else would have seen those colours as well.
Most of the sound sources used in this album were recorded in the vicinity of my house. The album itself is a kind of record of my daily life. The sound of birds and insects outside my window, the sound of rain hitting the ground, the sound of a child running after finding a puddle...
It may not be exactly the same as mine, but I'm sure that if you listen to it, you will be able to picture the scene. My daily life, which is nothing special, is somehow connected to yours.
Just like the color ao."

K Nogami is an ambient musician based in Shizuoka, Japan.
He makes music mixing field recordings and electro acoustic sound sources.
